Training for Independent Use

Independent End User Training Program

  • Independent end user training occurs monthly on a first come first served basis.
  • Trainees must be recommended by their manager/mentor to undergo training, have at least 10 instrument contact hours with an experienced flow cytometer user, have a need to use DHVI Flow Facility instruments at least 5 hours/month and have a strong desire to learn how to safely and correctly operate a flow cytometer to acquire comprehensive polychromatic flow data.

Expectations: 

  1. Complete Training Material (~6 hr)
  2. Classroom group orientation (~2hr)
  3. Hands-On session (~2 hr)
  4. Practical Exam (~2 hr)

To sign up for up training, follow these steps:

1.  Are you linked to your PI in CoreResearch?
  • If NO, please have your PI, PI-delegate, or financial administrator make this link on CoreResearch@Duke.
  • If YES, go to the next step.
2.  Are you linked to a valid project (Duke Fundcode/PO#) in CoreResearch?
  • If NO, please have your PI, PI-delegate, or financial administrator make this link on CoreResearch@Duke.
  • If YES, go to the next step.
